So, at the dealership this morning, I saw a Jetta with all this ugly chrome trim around the outside, so I checked out the VW site. Turns out that, yup, the Jettas have been restyled, and have imported all the ugly trim from the new Passats (I, for one, do *not* think they look like a million bucks). *sigh*

I was also poking about online since the mechanic also said my tires were feathered, and that seems to be a common problem with the stock Jetta tires around 30Kmi. Hmm...maybe sometime when I'm feeling rich (i.e. not for a year or so) I'll get some better ones.

I agree with your thought about the chrome trim. I didn't know they were putting them on the Jettas now.

Come on now. People buy VW's because they are well designed for driving - if they were after flair, they would buy something else.

The chrome trim is a Tesla thing. Now the electronic problems no longer have to be localized within the Jetta, but can be radiated to any electrical source within 30 meters. Really quite beautiful actually. I intend to get one and jumble people's cell-phones so dialing resets their stereo presets and closes their moon-roofs.

Hey, different strokes for different folks, and all. They're just disrupting my plans to buy VWs till the day I die. I may have to upgrade to Audis when the Jettah dies (hopefully in the far off future).

30K? I bought my car with twice that on it, & now I'm nearing 150. 80 miles a day doesn't help.

tell me what's happening the weekend of 19-21 in madison. please.

Well, I think it's just my car came with crappy tires.

As for stuff going on...the only thing that I know of is Inferno's 7th anniversary party on the 20th. Madison's coolest synthpop band, Null Device, is likely to be playing.
