I was fairly lucky last night, and I don’t just mean being able to spend time with my [livejournal.com profile] evilevi. ;)

She had gone to bed a bit early, and I was staying up puttering around on the computer when I heard a odd noise from the living room. I went out to investigate, and found a cat-sized hole in our screen door (which was left open, letting all this wonderfully cool air into my apartment). Turns out that Newton and Speck had taken it upon themselves to investigate the chipmunk that lived in the outside bush a bit more closely!

I was able to get them back inside without any problem, but now need to fix my screen door. :(

My sister's cat did that once. Header right out the window...on the second floor. I came over and we found her hiding in the thorniest bush in the yard. I still have a scar on my hand from it, but the cat is no worse for the wear. Glad to hear your critters are ok. Damn chipmunks. There's one in our yard that taunts Burton every morning...

Luckily, we are on the 1st floor, though that meant that the patio isn't fenced in. When I had a 2nd floor apartment, Claude and Guildenstern were able to head out onto it, and didn't seem like they had any interest in jumping--just enjoying their protected bit of the outside world.

Burton enjoys running out into the hallway on occasion, but then looks completely confused once he gets that far.
