So, I broke down after the TiBook's timely demise, and ordered a brand-spankin' new MacBook. (black, of course; yeah, I paid the "black tax").

Now, with my newly acquired Mini-DVI to DVI converter and a soon to be purchased or improvised laptop stand, I've got a Cube replacement as well. Huzzah!
Also, upgrading the RAM is super-cheap as well: it came with 1GB (2x512 sticks). Getting 2x1GB sticks is only about $120.
Man, it's nice. It's nice to have a laptop that:
- works on battery power alone
- has a functioning optical drive
- is faster than a turtle's walking speed
- has USB 2.0, so my flash drive works at a decent speed
- has actually decent wireless reception — there are apparrently 5 or 6 (it varies) wireless networks in range. I'd only ever seen my own.
