odd dream
I had a very odd dream this morning right before the alarm went off. It really could have turned into a nightmare if it hadn’t ended up just so darn geeky.
evilevi and I were at my parent’s house, visiting with them (we were supposed to go up there this weekend). There was a huge newly-constructed warehouse in one of the fields there, filled to the brim with hay bales that were about to be shipped out. However, the people who were going to pick up the hay were very secretive, and insisted that no one be present while they filled their trucks (apparently this entire warehouse full of hay would fit in two semi trucks). This just wouldn’t do, so my dad, Kate and I snuck in to see what the big deal was. Dad hid up in the rafters, and Kate and I were sneaking around inbetween stacks of bales. There were black-clad heavily armed commando people all around, guarding the place as conveyor belts were set up to quickly load the trucks. The loaders were quite efficient, but Kate and I made for lousy sneakers, and were caught. Several shots were fired, and Kate was hit (even through the flak jacket she suddenly was wearing). I began to haul her bleeding body out of the area, dodging the suppressive fire that was coming my way. As I started to tend to her wounds, suddenly her character sheet was referenced, and I noticed several math errors in the way her wound totals were figured. As everyone knows (at least everyone who has played CP2020), armour-piercing ammo does half damage (but also treats armour as half-value). So her hit points ended up much better than we thought (from about 6 points per hit to 1 point per hit), and the medial crisis was averted. I can’t vouch for the validity of the math, however, as it’s dream-math. :D
