On Saturday morning, I had a tasty breakfast at the OHOP with [livejournal.com profile] ladymeshel and [livejournal.com profile] evilevi. Mmmm...pancakes.

I nearly gave Kate an apoplexy after canceling and then uncanceling Saturday afternoon’s shindig with my parents. I got it all straightened out though, and hopefully she won’t hold their uncharacteristic flakeyness against me (or them).

Had sushi with Kate for dinner (two of my favourite things!) and then headed to Inferno for some slightly tipsy fun. Both of us had slightly more to drink than we usually do. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] bloodlossgirl, [livejournal.com profile] salisbury, and [livejournal.com profile] celticgypsy for the b-day drinks!

Sunday morning, I got to watch Kate make a mess in my kitchen while we were preparing stuff for our picnic later in the day. Popped out in the middle of food preparation for lunch at Ella’s Deli. Now, I’d never been to the East Side one, and had only been to the now-deceased State Street one once. The decor is certainly...interesting, and the plethora of kids was annoying, but the food was quite delicious. Mmmm...black ‘n’ white banana split. Also, I think I finally figured out why the dish ran away with the spoon. Hint: If I was drawing that particular rendering of the nursery rhyme, I think I would have placed the spoon’s legs further down it’s “body”.

After hauling all the food to the car, we headed to Spring Green for a picnic of curry egg salad sammiches, spinach orzo salad, and fruit. I could almost get used to vegetarianism with all that yummy food. :D My girl definitely has great taste in food.

Then up the hill to American Player’s Theatre for Hamlet. I’m not quite sure why the theatre needs to be 1) way out in the freakin’ middle of nowhere or 2) up a windy path on top of a freakin’ hill. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, though. Apart from those unresolved questions, the performance was quite good. The intermission was called a bit early due to a medical emergency in the audience. I’ve never actually been present for a “Is there a doctor in the house” sort of event. I’m not sure what was wrong with the guy, since he was remaining lucid and didn’t seem to be in pain, but when they bundled him onto the stretcher they had his right leg elevated. I don’t know if that means anything though. The ambulance came, and took the guy away, and the actors started up again (Hamlet restarted at the beginning of the interrupted soliloquy, and it took a while for him to build his energy back up, it seemed). Also, the actor playing Hamlet looked (and sounded) a lot like a shorter, younger Robin Williams (both Kate and I think so, so it’s not just me :D). That was kind of odd.

Damn good weekend all around.

The 10 year class re-union will be very informal. There will be beer and pizza. There will not be any entertainment except a bunch of drunk classmates. Please come and say hi to old friends and see what every one is doing now days. Lots of classmates are coming so don't miss your chance to see everyone

Colour me underwhelmed. That's *so* worth driving an hour and a half to go to. </sarcasm>
