It's a very rare event that I've had a day all to myself. This has been a pretty busy summer, especially on weekends--and even if I didn't have other plans and was just hanging out around the house, the fact that Kate was around is usually pretty strong incentive to stay at home or run errands with her.
But she's working today, so after a lazy morning and a hearty breakfast of mac & cheese, I decided to go biking.
I really do try to do the Monona Lake Loop as often as I can, which this summer only has been three times, including today. It was good though. It gets easier every time I do it, even though I'm not setting any sort of speed records. I figure I'm heavy enough that just haulin' my fat ass around on the bike for an hour and a half is a pretty damn good workout.
I actually didn't get lost in Monona this time--I remembered that the "Monona Scenic Bike Path" is *not* the Lake Monona Loop. Instead I just have to remember to follow the regular "Bike Path" signs. Although I did misread one of the signs and end up on Buckeye headed out past Stoughton Road. I figured "what the heck" and followed it till I ran out of bike lane in the road, and added about 4 miles to my ride, which was ok. Checking maps now, I apparently almost made it to the interstate--and Buckeye becomes County AB, which is where I had my car accident in January. Interesting--I don't get much call to get out that way, so it's a part of town I'm not familiar with at all.
Ugh. I guess I should go finish my laundry now.

(no subject)
I've made the exact same mistake. Only, I noticed it much, much sooner than you did, and didn't add quite as many miles to my ride.
