... a check in the mail 8 years later?
I was in a car accident in 1999. Totaled my car, and got paid for its worth, minus my deductible. Since it was entirely the other guy's fault (he turned left immediately in front of me, and then gave the cops a fake ID since there were warrants out for his arrest), AmFam said they'd try to get my deductible back from him.
I didn't figure it was likely, and had mostly forgot about it. Until today.
I got a hand-written envelope from the insurance company today, which was very strange. Inside was a check for $100! Not my entire deductible, but not unwelcome either.
