I think my TiBook has finally given its all. After five and a half years, a motherboard swap (and 100 MHz CPU upgrade!), as well as various other PMU fixes, it did not end with a whimper, but a bang (and a flash). Something gave out, there was a small 'pop', I watched the LCD backlight fade away to nothingness, and that's all she wrote.
Time for a Macbook? I've been saying I've needed to replace both my original series TiBook (400 MHz G4, baby! Upgraded to 500MHz after the PMU on the first one died) and my G4 Cube (450MHz, upgraded to 1.2GHz) for at least a year or two now.
Maybe I can justify a brand-new laptop by pretending it'll be my primary machine...monitor spanning, external keyboard and mouse, etc. We'll see what sort of deals I can dig up.
