Spent the last few days in all-too-sunny (and hot!) Indianapolis for GenCon. Headed to the UW Hospital last Wednesday to borrow a digitimal gamera from
ratthing when Akira and I happened upon
tagaboo, who gave the the two of us an impromptu tour of the twisty passages.
Got the final version of our website from my friend Jere, who runs a web design firm. It was definitely worth the money to have someone with actual artistic talent design the artwork for the site. I managed to get the textual content slapped in there just before we had to leave on Wednesday, though, so that’s still a bit rough looking.
The con was great, though. People really seem to enjoy what we produce, so we need to get crackin’ so they can buy our books. The current plan is to have one ready to go (with art and whatnot) by January. We’ll see how well that goes.
On the downside, that meant spending five whole days away from my
evilevi. I’m sure you all are *deeply* sympathetic. It’s good to be home. ;-)
Also, due to the close temporal proximity of Origins and GenCon, I was on a *very* tight budget for the con. No new gaming stuff :(, and barely enough for food. I spent the last few days before leaving thinking “I should have a huge rebate check coming soon. I hope it gets here before I leave--it’d make things *so* much easier”. Of course, it arrived while I was gone. :-) No worries, though--that leaves me with sushi (and other food) money till I get paid again! Woo!
